London ‘FUN-RUN’ Series:

I have created this series to engage people of ALL abilities. I am looking to get non-runners, runners, fun-runners and everyone in between out together for a series of themed, unique and enjoyable runs.

I have a firm belief we are all capable of more than we think, I’m not sure I can run 15 marathons in a year, yet without attempting this challenge I will never know. Sometimes the society we live in dictates our limitations, to me this serves as motivation.

100% of the £5 entry fee goes directly to Macmillan Cancer Support which will contribute towards my fundraising target of £10,000.

This part is VERY IMPORTANT – this is not a race, we will run together as one. We will make new friends, laugh, encourage and celebrate together.

We will finish up with a presentation, where everyone completing the event will receive a personalised certificate, a little snack and a hug!

For those interested we will then source out a venue for lunch.

What’s inspired this?

I want to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan, every single penny means a great deal to this wonderful charity and by running these events I hope to raise additional funds.

Late last year a good mad as a hatter friend who happens to also be very inspirational text me saying ‘there’s 50 Paddington bears in London and I need to do a long run…’ This was the result – Those 22miles were the easiest 22miles I will ever run, simply because we weren’t thinking about running! The wonderful Anna Mcnuff is now running the length of New Zealand (2000 whopping miles!!) follow her journey here

Then between Christmas and New Year Strava had their ‘Festive500’ challenge on, another good adventurous buddy Andy Smith who had cycled around Brasil in the first six months of 2014 on his epic ‘Samba Cycle’ spent one of his ‘Festive500’ days cycling 100KM around all of London’s football stadiums. I admire how he has combined his passions of football, cycling and adventure on both the small and mega scale! I’m sure the 100KM were easier with the focus of the next stadium to occupy his thoughts on a bitterly cold day!

My final inspiration comes in the form of Danny Bent who has created Project Awesome This is a free fitness movement, where ALL abilities are welcome. Danny is doing this out of the kindness of his heart and that feeling resonates with everyone showing up to get fit! I find everyone who comes to Project Awesome at 06:30 brings positivity, which inspires me to put the ‘FUN-RUN’ series on.
